He lost everything. But he hadn't lost his life. In all essence, he was free. He was free to do anything. He could be a rodeo clown for all he cared. He could go into the hospitality industry. He could marry a sweet girl and have a bundle of children. He could join the circus. He could star in a movie. He could direct one. He could begin a career in busking. He could rob a bank or join the FBI. He could watch a matinée. He could go to medical school. He could rescue a kitten. He could be a politician. He could take a walk or he could ride a bike. He could learn a magic trick. He could give someone the death touch. He could learn Kung Fu. He could find a best friend. He could live a lie. He could eat a cheeseburger. He could listen to The Beatles. But he didn't do any of those things. Instead, he just sat there and sobbed.
